Our Pitch

Pitch 1: After years of being apart, four best friends reunite and start to realize that their feelings for each other have deepened over time. as they spend time together, they must confront their feelings and decide whether to pursue a romantic relationship or keep things strictly platonic

Pitch 2: A star high school soccer player suffered a devastating injury on the field right before the state championship game. He is faced with the reality that he may never play soccer again and must come to terms with his newfound limitations

Pitch 1 (continued): The reason our group chose this pitch was because we already have a group of four friends (2 boys and 2 girls) and would like to incorporate that into our film to make it exhilarating for us. This idea can also be interesting to the audience that would be watching the film to see how the end of the story plays out. It would also fit well with our age group, since a lot of teens usually get caught up in these types of situations. We would also be working with someone else who is not in our media group to generate the group of four best friends turning into lovers. This pitch would be a good decision also due to the fact that this story line has basically occurred with both couples in our group over the past couple of years.

Pitch 2 (continued): The reason my group chose this pitch as another option is because we already have group members that play soccer, so it would make sense to film something having to do with the sport. The injury concept is also a real thing and has happened to several people before, where they could not recover 100% to play their desired sport ever again. This would present a story that could be vastly relatable to others. It would help the audience who has experienced this setback feel less alone in a situation like this.

Our final decision: Our group decided to go with pitch #1 because it would fit in better with the members of our group than the second pitch would. It would be easier to make a film about something you have experienced in the real world since you can really get a good perspective of how things go in situations of "friends to lovers." It happens more than expected to several people, especially in friend groups. However, in the real world, it can either take a terrible turn with a bad outcome or have a good outcome with some ups and downs in between.
