Creative Critical Reflection

 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?

I think our commercial challenged conventions a lot. Several Twizzlers commercials incorporate a lot of colors and happiness, whereas ours was a lot more romantic. It was pretty serious as well and a happy moment was still included, it just wasn’t as bouncy and exciting as other Twizzlers commercials that I have seen. The commercial represents social groups in the sense of it helps to make comparisons between other brands causing them to interact and come up with more ideas.

 

 

 

 

 2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?

Our product advertisement engaged with audience because we were inspired by the movie “The Lady and the Tramp” which is an older animated movie that used to and still is watched often. This helps with the idea of foreplay and the audience most likely having an idea of what’s gonna happen in order in the commercial. Another way it gets audience to engage is due to the fact that since other Twizzlers commercials were upbeat, this one is more calm and different to the usual stereotype of the original commercial. In real media, this can be broadcasted on TV and it can also be an Ad on youtube videos for viewers to see.


 

 

3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?

Throughout this project, my production skills developed I had the ability to learn how to edit the logo into the video, I made a lot of cuts from each clip to make sure we were in the right time basis. This helped me develop skills for the future incase I’ll ever need to do more advanced editing. I can use it to my advantage with the things I learned.


4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?

I integrated technologies by having use my phone which is an iPhone in order to record and make final edits. We used iMovie to edit our commercial when we made cuts, added transitions, and added music. This software was very helpful throughout the whole editing task because it is quite easy to use that app.

Hi, my name is Sarah Kraja and I'm ecstatic to soon begin this music video. I have some experience with technology since I am always using it, and I used to edit a lot of videos for fun when I was younger. I feel like that will be very helpful for me in this class because there is a lot of recording involved throughout the rest of the year.
