First Scene- Establishing shot, which is a medium-long shot of four friends walking towards the entrance of the building, conversating and appearing joyful.   Second Scene- The group finally interlocked together for a group hug. We filmed this with a close-up shot followed by a zoom-out to medium distance during their conversation.   Third Scene- This scene was filmed with a tracking shot from the front of the four friends walking and talking making their way to the entertainment/party room of the building.   Fourth Scene- The group is now seated at the large table in the party room, catching up on their lives, when suddenly the camera action cuts to a close-up of Elton grabbing Mallory's hand, to imply unstated emotion.   Fifth Scene- This scene begins with a two-shot of Elton and Mallory after the action cut, Elton is opening up about his deep feelings, and the scene cuts.    Sixth Scene- This scene is filmed by a medium close-up at an eye-level angle to emphasize Mallory'

Planning Blog: Title design

Image
Welcome back to my blog! My group and I are getting close to filming our final task. This means I get to design our title for the sequence. The first scene will include credits with the font "Sabon Next LT" in the middle of the screen. This text will be in a normal to large font size. For the credits that are to be embedded in the scenes, some examples of places the words would be located on are the side of a building, the inside of an elevator and on top of a pool table. Possible title: the title for this film will most likely be something like "Lost Love" The title will be bolded and in the font "Sabon Next LT" and the font color will be a bright white. The main title will have a slight pulse and then will fade out. The title will last about 3-4 seconds while the credits will last 2-3 seconds each. The name of the person who did the job will be a font and a half sizes bigger than the job they did. Example: "Edited by:  John Doe "

Planning Blog: Location, participants, health, schedule

Image
Location: Sarah's apartment building is the setting for the film. There is a clubhouse in there that we can occupy at any time of day we would like. It is very spacey and has a lot of things we can be doing in there, such as sitting in the movie room, playing pool, ping pong, and Foosball, to set the scene of everyone being together as a group. It would be a nice sight to see since the whole piece is about friends becoming lovers, and these activities can show the aspect of friends having a good time all together.  Participants: The first participant is Luke, and he is the cameraman of this film. He will be behind the scenes, doing the work of holding onto the camera. The next participant is Elton, who is one of the main characters of the short film. He is one of the friends who admits his feelings to another character. The third participant is Mallory, and she is also one of the main characters that eventually ends up admitting feelings for Elton. The fourth participant is Brayden

In Building   We see four figures in the distance. They are walking into a building , smiles on their faces, as if they're seeing each other for the first time.   ELTON, BRAYDEN, SARAH, and MALLORY finally reach each other and embrace in a group hug.   ELTON It's been too long since we've all been together!   BRAYDEN I know, we have so much to catch up on!   SARAH Yeah, so much has happened in the past few years.   MALLORY I'm just so happy we can finally spend some time together.   The four of them start walking t o the party room in the building .   ELTON Remember when we used to talk about everything?   BRAYDEN Yeah, those were the good old days.   SARAH I feel like we could still talk about anything.   MALLORY Me too. It's like no time has passed.   As they sit at the table, ELTON looks at MALLORY and takes her hand.   ELTON I have to be honest with you guys. I've always had feelings for Mallory.   MALLORY looks at ELTON, surprised, but also intrigued.

Title research: Midnight Sun

Hey there, I used the movie title "Midnight Sun" as it follows the romantic theme of our movie idea. When researching the movie title, I came across the website www.artofthetitle.com , I used this website because it was easy to navigate and find my research.   1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?   The opening sequence of "Midnight Sun" features the film's title in white letters against a black background. This is followed by the names of the main cast and crew, which are also displayed in white against a black background.   2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?   The opening sequence of "Midnight Sun" features several images of the film's protagonist, Katie, as she plays guitar and sings on a beach at sunset. These images are interspersed with shots of the ocean, the sky, and other natural elements.   3. What connotations do these images carry? The images of Katie playing guitar and singing on the beach co
