Filmed with overtime!

 


We believed we had everything worked out as we got deeper into the film's editing phase. Even though we carefully edited our film to make sure we didn't go over budget, we were shocked to see that we still had an incredible 13 minutes of material. It was quite the task to trim it down, especially with so many filler films showing ordinary things like hair and teeth brushing.We overcame several challenges to complete the editing process because we were committed to realizing our goal. We were getting closer to the finish line every day, and the excitement increased as time went on. The idea of finishing this project was becoming more and more thrilling, especially because the SAT and AICE examinations in April and May were quickly approaching. We made slow progress towards the final cut, refining every clip and polishing every transition. Our resolve was strengthened by the gratification of witnessing our labors translate into a well-written narrative. We took great care in choosing the finest images, making sure that each frame added something significant to the story. A wave of relief swept over us as the editing process came to an end. We would be able to put this endeavor on hold and concentrate on our impending exams soon. There was more urgency because of the approaching deadlines, but there was also fresh inspiration to finish well. Notwithstanding the difficulties and deadlines, we never wavered in our commitment to producing a flawless end result. We completed the last details and were prepared to release our video to the public, proving that our perseverance paid off. Ultimately, even though the editing process presented some difficulties, it also yielded invaluable insights and experiences. We bid our project farewell with the satisfaction of having overcome challenges and the excitement of upcoming projects.

Final Name Change

Hello, blog. I indicated in my most recent blog that I was completing the editing for our movie. I wanted our produced and directed title slides to appear in the movie, so I embedded them. I began by writing the directed by title on the exterior of my building in the first frame. The difficult thing was not learning how to embed text. Finding frames where to insert the text and have it appear to be a part of the video without the camera moving and the text moving with it was difficult. It was the only factor that determined where I placed the credits. The movie also has sound, which I added. You might remember that in a previous blog I asked Universal Music for permission to use the song "Love Fools"; following their initial email, UMC never responded. That was certainly unfortunate. Tweaks and Changes

There are a lot of things that still need to be fixed with the clips. As a group we officially started editing and we are using iMovie. The film was taken on my phone since we agreed I had the most storage and was able to have all of that on my phone. We put the clips all together on iMovie and it came out to be 2 minutes and 41 seconds. There are still some parts we must cut out or shorten that should not be there, but I'm glad we got the time right. A big part also needed to be done are the titles. We will work together to make them look as neat and flowy as possible in the film. Hopefully it turns out as amazing as I think it will. I think the hardest part for my group was getting everyone together, but I'm glad we managed to do it. Without all the proper editing, I believe the film looks great! Filming officially complete!

On Sunday evening, we all got together and finally put our commercial together. Michaela came to help with the filming while Sabrina, Lola, and I were the ones being recorded. I ended up bringing a couple chairs and a white table cloth to set up the scenery. Lola had other necessary props such as the table, and she went to the store to buy the actual Twizzlers as well. Sabrina also brought a hot glue gun for the use of gluing Twizzlers together to make it one long one for the last scene. Unfortunately, we ended up having to use our backup plan, but it still worked in our favor. Lola's sister and her friend were unable to show up for the filming process. They had practice for their sport and couldn't make it to be a part of the commercial. In this case, we had Lola and one of our friends, Nate, do the last scene from the inspiration of Lady and the Tramp.
