Music Clearance
To start off this blog, we still haven’t received an answer from Universal. We have been waiting to see if we are allowed to use their music or not. However, we do have a quick backup plan incase this one doesn’t work. In the case that we are not given clearance, we have decided that we will use non-copyrighted music straight from youtube. My group and I would also make sure that the music matches the genre of the short film for it to connect smoothly. Besides the music, we have continued to do lots of editing. We have added the music even though we are still waiting for clearance, we made the necessary cuts, and have brought our film down from 2:41 to 2 minutes. This was a very important part of the film and for a moment we forgot if we needed the film to be 2 or 3 minutes. Silly us, but luckily we got that taken care of! Anyways, the point is that editing is going smoothly for us and we are not stressing about it. I am seeing some other groups stressing because they still haven’t even filmed. I am very glad we filmed before the weekend because I am now in New York and I would be completely unavailable to do anything with my group. My group and I are on track and very paced up. I don’t feel rushed at all and I believe we are doing okay. What I believe that all we have left, is the titling sequences and productions. This is a simple task I am just waiting to get back to do it with my group since all our editing has been done together. Hopefully we can get the play from Universal for the song Lovefools because that’s really all we are waiting for. Everything else can be done quickly and simply. I get back Sunday night, but I see my group mates in class on Tuesday. This is the day that we will be working in the morning to get the last minute tweaks completed.
